Similar to U202R - 1x15, 2 channels each with bright and normal inputs, volume and tone knobs.Īlso has depth, speed and intensity knobs. An amp similar to above, this one has 3 inputs and five knobs, no footswitch in the front, there might be one in the back however. To point wiring, schematic most similar to U255, about 20-30W. Each channel has tone & volume, tremelo has speed & intensity and reverb has depth. The covering is black tolex-like material and the grill cloth is a black/silver The tube lineup is as follows: 12AX7 (3), 6AN8, The blue may be an after-market addition, Sides of ampĪre blue, with a gold plate across the top with a logo and yellow/gold grille cloth. Two inputs for each channel: bright and normal. Single 12" speaker, described as a "soft 50-watt amp" (i.e. Jensen 12 inch speakers with the Univox name in the top left in brushed metal.ĥ)- probably built around 1967. Another Amp from this period is a 40W tube amp w/ 3 inputs, tremolo, reverb and footswitch, and either 1 or 2.1x12 Jensen speaker and diamond shaped logo. U-102 - similar to above, gold/brown grille cloth, controls on the top, 3 inputs, foot switch, one 6CA4, two 6AQ5, two 12AX7 one 6AU6 tubes. With gold/brown grille cloth, controls on the top, 3 inputs, foot switch, 12AX7's (3) and 3 other tubes. One person sent me info about an amp they have from this period, it is a 30W all tube amp. Some of the amps may have also been sold as "Magnasonic". Also, some with controls in the front had brown/gold grille cloth. Some of these also have controls on the top, but it then switched to controls in the front, like the later solid state amps. Others had white/grey grille cloth and an angled Univox logo in the upper left. These tend to have the controls mounted on the top in the back and the tubes all point down inside. Some had gold grille coth and a diamond shaped Univox logo in the There were several variations of these amps. Made in the US, others were made in Japan and all used high end Jensen speakers. Touch your screen.I have very little information about there early amps, and only some model numbers. I have to think the unique tubes in this amp have a TON to do with the character.I really haven't heard amp-OD like this.ever. I set the volume at noon and it just made SWEET love with any/every dirt pedal I tried. I briefly plugged in my board after I was done exploring all the sounds with different volume settings. The tone knob isn't overly responsive, just adds a little/takes a little away.whether it's rolled back all the way or completely cranked the amp still has the same feel. When cranked, this thing is but in a grungy 60's-70's way. The cleans are super smooth and warm, probably because the tubes are really cooking, even at low volumes. This amp is SO much fun! The tremolo just ooooooozes mojo.really captures the late 60's garage-y sounds. I turned it on and just PLAYED for an hour.no effects, no switching guitars, just tele and unibox. This is Richard's improvement on the Univox U-45B.and it is SICK. I've been GASSING for a second amp for a while.but I knew I also wanted something that covered a completely different tonal palate than my Maz.something meaner, but not in a brootz way.
